Memorial Park with Mandy

We headed to Memorial Park this morning for a walk/playtime with my BF Mandy and her girls, Avery and Ashton. It was such a nice cloudy, cool morning to walk around the lake and chat. Afterwards the kids burned some energy on the playground before heading home for lunch (and a 3 hour nap....yay Asher!). Because I'm SO horrible at remembering my camera and actually taking pictures of our lives, click here to see the pics that Mandy posted. (Thanks Mandrea!:))

There's something so nice about spending time with an old friend, one who's known you since you were 14...and still loves you. So comforting and reassuring to be walking through the same stage of life together. Love you Mands!

New Kitchen

For the past couple months we've been eyeing this kitchen and wanting to get it for Asher man. Our good friends have the exact same one and every time we are at their house he heads straight for the kitchen set and plays with it the WHOLE time. He loves it. Well, we finally bought one this week and Mark worked all evening/night to get it set up for our bubba!
Such a good dad
When we brought Asher down the next morning, he immediately spotted it and yelled "that" and ran over to it with a huge smile on his face. He was SO excited...it was precious.
Talking on his new cell phone:
So happy!
Yay for new toys that provide hours of entertainment!!:)

My Boys

I. LOVE. THEM.

OK, OK, I'll Blog

Over the past couple weeks I've had MANY people ask why I've fallen off the face of the blogging world and haven't updated in over two months. Honestly, I don't know why....just haven't really felt like blogging lately.

This summer has been fun, pretty low-key so far, and just a great time of hanging out with friends and family....pools, splash parks, play dates, hiking, BBQ's, visits from friends....we've done it all. We have some great stuff coming up in the next few weeks including my Grandma's 80th Birthday Party this weekend and vacation with Mark's family in a couple weeks. I promise to provide pictures and updates more frequently from here on out!

To get started, here's a few pictures from a family hike we took at the beginning of the summer:

Getting ready to head out
(as you can tell, Asher was really excited to be in the hiking backpack):
The only family picture we got....and my child is picking his nose. Awesome.
Lovin' Colorado and lovin' my hubby!
Silly Bubba!

More to come!

Starbucks and a New Chair

If you know my in-laws at all, you know they absolutely LOVE Starbucks. Actually, that's probably even an understatement! When Asher was just a couple months old, my father-in-law had a dream Asher said to him, "Grandpa, I want to go to Starbucks." Ever since then, Hans can't wait for the day Asher is old enough to go to Starbucks on a grandpa/grandson date!:) Anyways, yesterday we ran by Starbucks after lunch and Asher insisted on having his own cup to fit in with the rest of us. Here he is drinking his "Starbucks" (apple juice) with Grandpa and Grandma Finzel:

Asher saw this chair at a friends' house the other day and absolutely loved it. Luckily, our friends let us borrow it for a while and Ash is having a great time....he carries it around the whole house, gets up and down from it about 25 times a day, watches movies, and reads books in it (well, for about 30 seconds).

Just lounging with his beverage
Watching a movie
So happy about his new chair!

Such A Little (Big) Boy

Recently, Asher has been doing more and more things that classify him as a "little boy" rather than a baby. Whether it's playing at the park, walking around "talking" on his cell phone, or helping us put the dishes away after dinner (seriously!), he's just changing so quickly right in front of us. The other night he really wanted to sit in his rocking chair BY HIMSELF and read his books BY HIMSELF. Now, granted, this only lasted for about 3 minutes, but I was still able to capture some cute pictures of our little man.

The A-Man

Haven't blogged in a while...just haven't felt like it really. But, here's a picture my sweet friend Irene took of Asher at the park the other day and I just had to post it! Since walking, Ash is all into exploring the outdoors...it's gonna be a great summer.
