Sick Baby

Asher got his first cold/cough last Friday and started developing a wheeze over the weekend. Unfortunately, by Monday he sounded pretty bad so we had to bring him to the Dr. both Monday and yesterday. As is customary to my side of the family, the Dr. said he needs some breathing treatments 5 times a day for the next week or so. Now, at 4 months old, Asher doesn't think these are so fun and usually cries the entire treatment. However, yesterday when my mom was over he was completely calm and actually fell asleep during the treatment...it was so cute!

Tummy Time Fun

Asher has never been a fan of "tummy time" but we give it a shot every now and then...especially since he will never learn to crawl without spending some time on his stomach! Anyways, last night we put him on his stomach and he rolled over by himself two times in a row (without even crying)! This is a HUGE accomplishment for him so we were cheering and clapping when he did it. Well, tonight we wanted to capture the event on camera so we put him down on the floor for some tummy time....
Looking pretty good

Getting a little frustrated...

Trying to find a "happy place" by sucking on his hand...

Downright ANGRY!!
I guess we'll have to try and capture this accomplishment some other time!

Bumbo

Asher loves sitting in the Bumbo chair cause he can look around and see the world. He is not a passive baby by any means and, as I mentioned before, he is in somewhat of a frustrating stage because he wants to do more than his little body will allow! Anyways, here are some pics of him enjoying the Bumbo:

Just playing with toys

Trying to get him to smile...

There it is!

This doesn't have anything to do with the Bumbo - I just thought it was a cute picture!

Albino Family

Because the Finzel Family could also be known as the "semi-albino" family, we had to buy Asher a little sun hat today for our hike around Garden of the Gods...here is a pic of Asher getting ready to go on his first hike with his new hat:

Bubba is 4 months old!

It's so hard to believe that our little Asher man is already 4 months old - time really does fly by! He is so much fun and we absolutely love having him as part of our family. Just the other day he started laughing and squealing while I was tickling him and my heart just melted...he brings such incredible happiness and joy to our lives! Here are some recent pics of our little bubba:

I always swaddle him up before his nap. However, the other day I wrapped him up but he had NO interest in sleeping so I let him sit on the couch and look around for a while...
Our little burrito.

Precious little feetAsher with his favorite toy
He loves grabbing for it and sticking it in his mouth. However, he is at the age where he wants to do more than his body will allow so he gets pretty frustrated when his arms don't move and grasp things the way they should! Hopefully that will get better in the next couple months.

Brokke Uncles

Asher finally got to see his uncle Derek again when he came to Colorado a couple weeks ago....Derek is doing a School of Biblical Studies with YWAM and has been living in Hawaii since last October. The last time he saw Asher was when he was 2 weeks old so it was pretty fun to have him here now that Asher is a little more interactive. Here are pictures of Asher with my three wonderful brothers...three of his five uncles!

Derek made him laugh and "talk" a lot - it may have been because of that crazy beard!

The Grumpster

So, just recently Asher has definitely developed a whiny side if he doesn't like the way things are going. The funniest though is that he has a "grumpy" face he does where his lip is out and he just looks completely put out and distraught with life! Anyways, last night while I was at the gym and Mark was watching Asher he took this picture of him and sent it to me in a text message titled "Asher wants mommy to come home." It made me laugh so hard - poor guy has such, such a rough life! :)
